Two Year Genetic Guarantee/Spay & Neuter Contracts

Puppy Contract/ Guarantee And Spay & Neuter Contract

Puppy’s Health:

Sac River GoldenDoodles & BerneDoodles LLC guarantees that, at the time of pickup/delivery, the dog has been checked by a licensed Vet and is in good health (minus potential intestinal parasites) and has received age-appropriate immunizations, microchip, deworming and health certificate. Should the dog be found to be in poor health of a serious nature that is diagnosed as permanently life altering by a veterinarian, Breeder will provide Buyer a full refund of the purchase price of dog only after the dog is returned to Breeder at Buyer’s expense.

The Buyer has three (3) days from the time of receipt of dog to have dog examined by a licensed veterinarian. Any request to return the dog to the Breeder for a full refund must be made within this time period and may only be requested should the dog be found to have a health issue of such serious nature that the quality of life of the dog will be shortened or seriously altered. Your reservation fee will not be refunded.

Minor health ailments including, but not limited to, fleas, ticks, parasites, stress induced diarrhea due to the puppy’s transition to the Buyer’s home are not reason for the dog to be returned to Breeder.

The Breeder promises to make the Buyer aware of any and all known health issues before the purchase of this puppy. The Breeder has taken all reasonable care to ensure that all puppies produced are as healthy as possible. The Breeder is not liable for any accident or injury to the animal once it leaves Sac River GoldenDoodles & BerneDoodles LLC premises. Once the puppy leaves our care we have very little control over how the puppy is handled, where the puppy is taken or what the puppy is exposed to.

Proof of examination and diagnosis must be provided to Breeder and Breeder’s vet, should Buyer wish to request returning dog for a refund. This must be done within three days from time of pickup.

The three (3) day health warranty will be terminated immediately if the dog is not examined within the allotted time and documentation provided to Breeder.

Vaccinations and Dewormer

The Breeder will provide vaccination and deworming history on the puppy.

Genetic Defects

The Breeder guarantees hips, eyes & elbows and any other life-inhibiting genetic defects for 2 years after the date of purchase. A replacement puppy will be provided by the Breeder from the next available litter.  The Breeder reserves the right to choose the replacement puppy based on availability and match with Buyer.  The Breeder reserves the right to refund the purchase price of puppy minus reservation fee. The replacement puppy will be of the same value as the original puppy. If the replacement puppy is of more value, Buyer must pay the difference.

For any genetic defect, we want to work with Buyer on a plan for the return of the dog or feasibility of staying with Buyer.

If the puppy is diagnosed with hip dysplasia, official written documentation, including films and any and all veterinary reports associated with the hip dysplasia diagnosis from the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) or PennHIP of bilateral dysplasia, must be provided before a replacement is given. We will not honor a written statement or exams from your vet.  It must be documented by OFA or PennHIP and the results must be sent to our vet.  Only OFA results of moderate or severe will be covered.  This provision does NOT apply if it is determined that the hip dysplasia is a result of injury, overweight, mistreatment of the puppy or failure of Buyer to prevent situations likely to cause non-genetic hip dysplasia. Due to the environmental causes of this disorder, genetics cannot be completely blamed.  We recommend feeding your puppy the appropriate food for their size and to avoid strenuous exercise and activities during early stages of life.

A certified eye doctor must see the dog and results sent to Sac River GoldenDoodles & BerneDoodles LLC if a genetic eye defect is suspected.  Genetic defects resulting in blindness are covered for 2 years.

For any other genetic defect we require a written statement from two licensed vets stating that the defect is definitively genetic.  We reserve the right to have the dog examined by our vet for evaluating or diagnosing any suspected genetic disorder.

Warranties shall apply only to the original purchaser. Transfer of dog ownership shall void all such provisions of this agreement. No additional travel expenses, shipping, food, vet supplies or veterinary costs will be covered by Breeder.

Buyer agrees to maintain this dog in good health, provide routine preventative health care including, but not limited to, inoculations and internal and external parasite treatments for fleas, tick, heartworms and dental. Veterinary records must be provided to the Breeder if requesting replacement.  If any of the above preventative care has not been provided, the health warranty will be void.

Upon execution of this contract all veterinary care and its associated costs are the sole and exclusive responsibility of the buyer.

We do not guarantee size, color, appearance, hypoallergenic quality, or non-shedding quality. This warranty does not cover bite, certain looks, coat type or temperament.

Protecting your puppy

Puppies are given at least 1st shot while with us.   Please check with your Vet and follow up on all recommended boosters before taking your puppy to meet the public including parks, lakes, on camping trips, and so on. Take your puppy to the vet in a carrier and do not allow them to roam freely.  Do not allow other clients at the vet office to handle your puppy.  This may seem unfriendly, but it is important as they may be visiting the vet with a sick pet. Do not allow your puppy to roam your home unsupervised unless you have thoroughly puppy proofed your home. We recommend a crate, a playpen or a gated off “puppy area” when you can not supervise your puppy for the first several months in their new home.

Maintenance

Buyer understands that all puppies exhibit certain undesirable behaviors (nipping, chewing, barking, marking, etc). Puppies chew on things they shouldn’t and eat things they shouldn’t despite our best efforts.  As a result, they get things like worms, coccidia and giardia.  These things are easily treated and usually present no problem if treated promptly.  Breeder maintains puppies as long as they are in residence at Sac River GoldenDoodles & BerneDoodles LLC.  Buyer is provided with documentation showing what preventative measures have been used to maintain a healthy  puppy.

Buyer is responsible for appropriate training of puppy to correctly teach acceptable behaviors, and is responsible for proper socialization of puppy. Should Buyer not be successful at training these behaviors on their own, Buyer agrees to seek professional help from a certified trainer should it become necessary.

Socializing your puppy is EXTREMELY important. Introduce them to new items, toys, ideas, places and people (once fully vaccinated).  The more effort you put into your puppy the more fulfilling life will be with your new family member.

Buyer agrees to contact Breeder should it ever become necessary to re-home the dog. Breeder will rehome the dog or give approval to a new home of a qualified family as determined by the seller. Buyer agrees never to turn the dog over to an animal shelter, humane society, rescue organization, or puppy mill. There will be no refund in the event that your pet needs to be returned to us.

Sac River GoldenDoodles & BerneDoodles LLC encourages Buyers to consult them with questions of training or any other issues concerning health for the lifetime of the dog

Puppy Updates: Your feedback is very important to us especially on things like size, shedding, temperament and trainability. We love our puppies and want to continue to produce quality family members.  Feedback helps us to make future breeding decisions and also to better predict how our future litters will develop as adults. We can’t wait for you to share updates as your puppy develops!

SPAY AND NEUTER CONTRACT

Spaying/neutering/gonad sparing surgery (GSS) by a licensed, reputable veterinarian is required on the puppy by 24 months of age. Proof of this form of a Certificate of Spay/Neuter from the Veterinarian, must be forwarded to Sac River GoldenDoodles & BerneDoodles LLC by the time the puppy reaches 24 months of age. If Sac River GoldenDoodles & BerneDoodles LLC does not receive this document within this time, the two-year genetic guarantee will become null and void.

It is understood that at the time of sale that the puppy is not to be used for breeding. It is a representation of its breed and it is structurally and temperamentally suited for a companion and/or working dog. It is being sold as a pet without breeding rights.
